Omanyala set for Botswana Golden Grand Prix

The Africa 100m champion said that he will be taking a break just to train well for the three events with the big one at the Botswana Golden Grand Prix, the World Athletics Continental Tour that will be staged at the National Stadium, Gaborone on April 29th.

“I want to take a serious training and head to Botswana for the Continental Tour and back for Kip keino Classic,” said Omanyala.

Apart from the Grand Prix in Botswana, he will be chasing two titles in South African sprints.

Omanyala was full of praise for Imeta who has also proved his worth on track in the 100m.

“As Omanyala, one day I will exit the stage and I don’t want to leave a gap. We need to inspire another generation to take over. Seeing my brother Imeta coming like this, it shows that we can do better than in the past days,” said Omanyala.

Imeta from the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) said that he was well prepared for the race and Kenyans should expect much from him this year.

“The race has not been easy from the start after setting my personal best (9.94) today and more is expected. Last season I did not have a nice build up but this season I have started well and it has really helped me up to this far. There is more coming. I want to lower my personal best,” said Imeta.
