Former Goa Mahia defender Joash ‘Berlin Wall’ Onyango started well with his newly acquired club Simba SC, winning his first medal.
The Tanzania Premier League champions won the Community Cup on Sunday with Onyango on the starting lineup after beating Namungo FC 2-0 at Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium in Arusha.
Onyango, before heading to Tanzania had won three Kenyan Premier League medals as well as the Most Valuable Player Award in 2018/19 season.
He also played for K’Ogalo at the 2018/2019 Caf Confederation Cup competition.
But he did not play with his former Gor Mahia player Francis Kahata and Meddie Kagere was introduced late.
John Bocco and Bernard Morrison scored for the winners.
