Eldonets Basketball team coach Maurice Otieno Ouma will be running for Monday’s Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) Uasin Gishu Branch.
Ouma, just like clubs in the country, who have been advocating for club voting unlike the federation’s branch has been serving as the federation’s fixture director will be going it alone for the polls set for today afternoon at the Uasin Gishu High school.
“So far I have not seen any one coming forward to contest for the seat. We as the branch, have organized ourselves to know how the elections will be conducted,” said Ouma.
However, Ouma has learned some mischief with the federation who have not sent any election officers to conduct the elections.
He says that the federation only wrote a letter telling them to organize an election, yet there are no officials to oversee the process.
“We are not sure of the election’s integrity because we will be working by ourselves. The federation must be serious in these elections,” he said.
