University of Eldoret will be hosting its 28th edition of University of Eldoret (UoE) cross country meeting this Saturday at the universities ground.
Top athletes led by last year senior champions led by former Africa Youth 1,500m champion Eva Cherono and Africa Junior cross country champion Nicholas Kimeli Kipkorir will be chasing their back to back titles according to race organizer Kibet Rono.
Rono was optimistic that the race will be more attractive following the number of athletes calling in to register for the championships in one of the oldest races in the region.
The two runners won the women and men’s 10km senior races, with the race is the second in the Athletics Kenya Cross country calendar in the country after they kicked off at Isaiah Kiplagat Memorial Ndalat Gaa Cross country last Sunday in Nandi County ahead of the 2019 world cross country championships in Aarthus, Denmark.
Being one of the oldest races in the region, the meeting is expected to attract a large number of runners who trains on the same ground they will be competing.
