Kenya’s Parendis Lekapana led a 1-2 in women’s Boulogne-Billancourt Cristian Grangier half marathon as Jospat Tanui finished second in men’s category ran today in France.
Lekapana led her compatriot Susan Jeptoo who finised second before French international Karine Pasquier completed the podium.
The Kenyan international clocked 70:46 to claim the title ahead of Jeptoo’s 71:46 and Pasquier’s 75:21.
Ethiopia’s Taye Girma defeated Tanui in a race that 2008 Olympics 3,000m steeplecase champion Brimin Kipruto was making is road race debut.
Girma won the race timing 60:52 beating Tanui two seconds and six seconds ahead of Precious Mashele of South Africa.
Tanui came home second in 61:00 as Mashele rounded the podium in 61:14. Kipruto, now focusing on road running, finished fifth in 1:02:24.
