Patrick Okullo’s converted penalty earned Vihiga United a deserved win against visiting Chemelil Sugar in the only Kenya Premier League (KPL) relegation battle at Bukhungu stadium.
The win was good for the bottom of the table said Vihiga United, ending a 9 match winless play with a 2-1 win at home.
Vincent Mahiga struck first for the hosts in the 37th minute with his header before Victor Ademba leveled for sugar millers in the 67th minute.
As the match was headed for a one all draw, Okullo converted a penalty to earn on side maximum points after Christopher Masinza was fouled in the box in the 89th minute.
