Malkia Strikers, the national women’s volleyball team will T conclude their training in Velizy city today ahead of Africa Cup Championships in Yaoundé, Cameroon.
Head coach Paul Bitok, while in France said that after today’s training, the team will fly directly to Yaoundé Cameroon tomorrow.
“We shall continue with training in Yaoundé before reporting for the African cup of nation’s official or competition venue in Yaoundé,” said Bitok.
The continental competition will serve off from August 13th to 25th where strikers will be seeking to defend their title.
“Despite Kenya beating Cameroon five times in World Cup, World championship and Olympics qualifiers they have failed three times in cup of nations last being in Rwanda 2021 and Kenya last won in 2015,” said Bitok.
With Olympics qualifying rounds will be based on ranking the only chance to repeat the continental ticket for Malkia depends on this competition going in this year’s African cup of nations with 124 points followed closely by Cameroon with 122.
“I believe our team is much stronger than before and we are ready to face our opponents. We have also strong countries fighting for the title from Tunisia, Egypt, Nigeria, Morocco, Senegal and our neighbours Rwanda and Uganda ,” he wrote.
“The technical bench has high performance coaches from Brazil together with me and we have put alot of efforts to see Malkia at the top now and in future,” said Bitok.
