Pistone Mutamba will lead Harambee Stars for this year’s Hero Intercontinental Cup in India.
Mutamba, the hero against Equatorial Guinea in an international friendly with his sole goal, jetted out of the country with 15 other players today with more expected to follow the team later.
The national football team played two friendly matches, winning one against Equatorial Guinea by a solitary and losing by the similar margin against Swaziland on Monday and Friday respectively.
Kenya’s two friendly matches got the team in shape for the four nation tournament in India.
Coach Sébastien Migné has included international players like Buildcon FC duo of Cliffton Miheso and John Mark Makwatta.
Kenya will take on New Zealand on June 2nd before facing hosts India on June 4th. Stars third match will pit them against Chinese Taipei on June 8th with top teams facing off in the final on June 10th at the Mumbai Football Arena in India.
