Kenyans Irene Kamais, Daisy Cherotich Joyce Chepkmoi Tele and Gloria Kite took positions 2-3-4 and five as world champion Sifan Hassan broke the 10,000m world record at the Hengelo meet.
The Dutch international Hassan 29:06.82 for the record, bringing down the previous record set by Ethiopian Almaz Ayana (29:17.45) she set at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The reigning world champion over 1500m and 10,000m overlapped all her competitors for the world record with Kamais coming second in 30:37.24 ahead of Kenyan compatriots 30:37.31, Tele (30:59.01 and Kite’s 31:13.04.
