Justus Madoya took home advantage to win the 6th leg of Safari Tour Golf series that came to an end today on par 71 Great Rift Golf club.
Madoya, who has led since round one, maintained the lead to win with three over par 287 after firing two over in the 4th and final round on Saturday.
He lived his expectations with home fans, beating Zimbabwean Robson Chinhoi and Thika Sports Club’s Simon Ngige by three shots after playing with Ugandan Abbey Bagalana and Muthaiga’s Greg Snow.
Chinhoi who managed to overcome his second round disastrous 82, to shoot level par 71 which saw him tie for second place with Thika-based Ngige on six over par total of 290.
Bagalana sunk seven over par 78 to drop to fifth place on nine over par 293 while Greg Snow finished fourth on eight over par 292 after firing four over par 75.
On the other hand Nyali’s Adel Balala clinched the amateur title after a closing round of one over par 72 which saw also tie for ninth place overall with pros Jacob Okello, Mike Kisia, and Dismas Indiza on 14 over par 298.
