It was a show of solidarity when Kenya Soccer Players Association (KSPA) petitioned the Ministry of Sports the status of football in the country.
The former players said that the Cabinet Secretary, Ababu Namwamba should call for action over the Football Kenya Federation.
KSPA secretary general, Harold Ndege, said the current FKF structure is illegal and appealed to the CS for a fresh election.
“We call for an election through an intervention by the ministry. We are aware that the current FKF structure is illegal and we, therefore, call for an election through an intervention by the CS. We are looking at February 10 as the possible date,” he said.
Ndege additionally said the ministry should form a general assembly, in conjunction with Fifa and all stakeholders, whose main agenda should be to conduct fresh and fair elections.
The petition by the association highlights a report by the Ministry of Sports formed committee dated November 5, 2021.
