Rising Starlets humiliated by Uganda in World Cup qualifiers

National women under 20 soccer team Rising Starlets was humiliated by visiting Uganda in the first leg of Women’s World Cup under 20 qualifiers at the Nyayo stadium.

It was the worst moment for Charles Okere coached side after conceding 2-7, as visitors lacked respect for their hosts.

Juliet Nakulenge and Sumaiya Komuntale bagged their brace while Margaret Kunyihira, Fauzia Najemba and Shamira Naluguya netted a goal each for the Ugandan’s Junior Crested Cranes with Shalyene Opisa bagged a brace for consolation for Okere team ahead of next weekend’s return leg in Kampala.

Nakulenge scored first in the 5th minute before Kunyihira doubled in the 17th minute with Najemba added the third in the 21st minute.

 

Nakulenge converted a penalty in the 25th minute for 4-0 and bagged her brace in the 39th minute and Komuntale was on target for 6-0 into break.

On resumption, Opisa rcored her first goal for the Starlets in the 61st minute and secured her brace and the second goal for Kenya in the 79th minute with a long range drive Komuntale scored her brace in the 88th minute.
