Robinson Owiti beat Andrew Chelogoi by a single shot to emerge victorious in the concluded Limuru Open championships, the Kenya Amateur Golf Championships (KAGC) that came to an end on Sunday on par 72, Limuru Golf Club.

Vet Lab’s Owiti fired three over 219 gross to win his first title in the KAGC series ahead of Chelogoi’s four over par 220 gross.
The former national team captain tied with home player Paul Muchangi in the first two rounds of 36 holes on level par gross 144 but in the third and last round, Owiti fired three over par 75 while Muchangi scored seven par 80 to finish 8th overall with eight over par 224.
Today, Owiti fired eight pars and a bogeys in the opening nine before adding six pars and three bogeys in the back nine for three over 75.
This followed a level play on two rounds on Saturday with identical level play of 72, 72. In the first round, Owiti had two birdies, four pars and three bogeys for opening nine and closed with three birdies, pars and bogeys and the third round, he fired two birdies, six pars and a single bogey in the front nine and eight pars and a bogey.
Chelogoi, who is the Eldoret Club chairman, recorded the best results of all time to finish second, losing to Owiti with a single shot.
The former Eldoret captain finished third on the first two rounds with one over 145, had a good outing in the last round with three over 75, moving pone step up.
In the first round, he played one over 73 gross before playing level 72 in the second round.
