Rudisha, Chemos and Moraa still the show at world under 20

World 800m record holder David Rudisha, former world 3,000m steeplechase champion Milcah Chemos and world under 18 400m silver medalist Mary Moraa stole the show at the official opening ceremony of the world under 20 athletics championships on Tuesday evening.

Kenya, as the host nation, came last with junior athletes carrying the flag as two time Olympic Games Rudisha, Chemos and Moraa followed behind receiving applauds from a section of officials at the facility now that there are no fans at the stadium due to the coronavirus pandemic.

With the event opening by first Lady Margaret Kenyatta, presiding over a colorful opening ceremony, the event will officially be opened on Wednesday morning with Kenyans fighting for glory on home soil.

At the event, more than 100 countries, including the refugee team and neutral athletes will have an opportunity to compete at the biennial event and being hosted for the first time on African soil.
