Defiant Harambee Stars, once again proved their worth by beating former champions Morocco in their third match of the African Nations Championships (CHAN) at the Kasarani stadium.
Despite playing ten men in the field for over 50 minutes, The Harambee Stars maintained their composure to beat The Atlas Lions 1-0 with an important goal scored by Ryan Wesley Rambok Ogam.
In an explosive pool A encounter, Kenya defended their territory in the second half after Ogam scoring in the 42nd minute past Moroccan goalkeeper Al Harrar.
But the celebrations were short when Chrisphine Erambo was shown a direct red card after a lengthy VAR review after tackling Moroccan striker in the 45+4 minutes.
The Benni McCarthy coached side has so far received two red cards, the highest in the tournament and has taken to the podium of the pool with 7 points after three matches, a 1-0 against DR Congo, a 1-1 draw against Angola and today’s 1-0 over Morocco.
Moroccan coach Tarek Sektioui side remains third on the table with 3 points after playing two matches. They beat Angola 2-0 in the opening fixtures.
DRC Congo, who are second on the table will play bottom of the table side Zambia later in the evening.
