Sammy Mulama will be lining up at the Golf Park Open, the Kenya Amateur Golf Cha,mpionships (KAGC) series this weekend to defend his title he won last year.
Playing on home course, Mulama will be among top amateurs who will be battling for the title including series leader Michael Karanga, Kenya captain John Lejirma among others with the tournament set to tee off tomorrow Friday 8th to Sunday 10th at the par 72 Golf Park golf club.
According to the draw, 78 players will be seeking to win the title that has also attracted women players like Bianca Ngecu from Muthaiga Golf Club, Naomi Wafula of Vipingo Ridge, and Riddima Singh from India, alongside Margaret Njoki, Nancy Wairimu, Benta Kanili, and Mercy Nyanchama.
Mulama said: “I’ve been sharpening my skills and am looking forward to another successful year. The competition will be tough, but I’m ready to give my best and defend my title.”
Karanga continues to lead the standings with 722 points, holding a commanding lead ahead of Lejirma who has 646 points. With just three events remaining in the series, the competition for the top spot is heating up, making the Golf Park Open a key fixture in the overall standings.
