Former Eldoret Club golf captain Sandeed Singh fired five birdies to win the second edition of Reale Hospital golf tournament dubbed “Playing For Health” at Eldoret golf club on Saturday.
Handicap 5 golfer carded 42 stableford points to win the title on the nine hole course.
Sandeep who served as the captain of 2016/2017 started on a high, sinking a birdie in the opening hole par 5 but slowed to a bogey in hole two par 3 before he parred on three, bogeyed on 4 as he sunk three pars on five, six and seven but ended the inward nine with two birdies on 8 and 9 pars four and five respectively.
He started the outward nine with double bogey but recovered well with back to back pars in 11, 12 and 13. As holes accepted him, he birdied in 14 and 15 on pars fours before ending the day with three pars in 17, 17 and 18.
Hospital director Erick Rutto said the tournament was purely playong for health because at the hospital they treat sports injuries.
“We have to live a healthy life. The tournament was purely playing for health where we treat Spine, Knee among other sports related injuries,” said Rutto.
Nathan Tororei came in second with 40 stableford points before Kitale’s Simion Chepkwony completing the podium with 38 points.
