Sandhu and Maara to battle for Karen Challenge Trophy title

Leaders Jay Sandhu and Dennis Maara will be leading other golfers in chase Karen Challenge title, the Kenya Amateur Golf Championships (KAGC) series that tees off today at the Karen Country golf club.

Sandhu who enjoys the leader board with 422 points will be battling with Kenya captain Maara in the 54-hole tournament that will take three days, coming to an end on Sunday.

The event, which is a World Amateur Golf Rankings will be the first one on the Kenya Golf Union calendar after the 2022 general elections after Coast Open in Nyali Golf where William Kaguta won the title.

The Karen event is the 17th leg in the 25-events KAGC series where team Kenya players who clinched the Victoria Cup against Uganda and Region Vi.

Apart from Kenyan top players, Ugandans Michael Alunga and Ibra Bagalana have also been drawn.
