Shoaib Vayani, the Kenya Sports Shooting Federation (KSSF) president defended has retained his Africa Sports Shooting Federation (ASSF) vice president’s post.
Vayani was elected on Sunday garnering 16 votes out of 19 during the ASSF Assembly in Cairo.
He defeated other eight contestants and will now serve till 2025 in the position as Hamad Saif Eldin Mohammed from Sudan and South Africa’s Hendrik Christian Jacobs, who got 15 votes each and Abdeladim Lhafi from Morocco, who got 10 votes were also elected vice presidents
Hosny Hasem of Egypt retained his position as president with fellow countryman Sharara Tarek being elected the secretary general.
Vayani was elected recently as the National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOC-K) deputy secretary general.
Vayani joins the list of Kenyans who were elected to continental sports bodies this year.
