Shogun Rugby and Zambia confirmed for Safari 7s rugby tournament

Shogun Rugby formally Samurai and Zambia have confirmed their participation at the 2025 safari 7s set for next month at the Nyayo National Stadium, Nairobi.

The two day event set for October 10th-12th has so far received many teams conforming their participation.

After finishing second last year to eventual winners Shujaa, the Kenya’s top rugby 7s team, Shogun will be hoping to ride on their good play last year to win their maiden title on kenyan soil.

Kenya will be presenting three men’s teams led by Shujaa, Morans and 7s champions KCB Rugby.

Women side, Shogun Ladies will join Kenya Lionesses 1 and Lionesses 2, as well as Tunisia Ladies.

Zambia will return to the tournament after it was last featured in the 2019 and missed the 2021, 2023, and 2024 editions

“Confirmed! Zambia Rugby will be participating in the #2025Safari7s men’s category,” KRU announced on X.

The 2025 Safari 7s will return to Nyayo National Stadium for the first time since 2021, when Shujaa defeated Germany in the final to lift the trophy.

The 2023 edition was hosted at the RFUEA Grounds, while the 2024 tournament took place at Machakos Stadium.
