Kenya lost 31-17 in their last group match to France
Skipper Jacob Ojee landed a try to add on to Bush Mwale’s opener for a 12-0 lead but Le Blues soon leveled matters at 12-12 with two of their own from Paulin Riva and skipper Jean Pascal Barraque. But Mwale unlocked it heading to the breather with his second in the game.
France changed tact for the second half denying Kenya possession and crowned their performance with touchdowns from Remi Siega who completed his brace, tries that came on either side of one by Paul Bonnefond.
Kenya approached France with a loss to Fiji (24-17) and win over Samoa (21-20) as France came to the party with a 22-14 win over Samoa and 31-10 loss to France. The French will now contest the main cup knockouts as Kenya heads down to the Challenge Trophy.
