Shujaa, the national sevens rugby team won their last pool A match against Canada to book for aa challenge Trophy play against Japan at the ongoing Singapore Sevens.
After losing to the USA in the opening match 12-10 followed by another loss against champions South Africa 26-05 in the second match, the Innocent Simiyu led side beat Canada 24-07 to finish third overall to book for Japan in the Challenge Trophy after finishing third too in pool D.
Herman Humwa and Kevin Wekesa touched down for Shujaa for a 12-7 lead at the break.
Anthony Omondi and Edmund Anya sealed the victory over Canada with Omondi adding two extras.
Canada’s tries came from Lockie Kratz and Brennig Provost.
