Lawrence Cherono returned home with song and dance, partying with Mursik and Sinendet following his victory on Monday at the 123rd Boston marathon on Monday.
Making his maiden win at the World Marathon Majors (WMM), Cherono was well welcomed at The Eldoret International Airport today with family members led by Luka, Benson and his wife Winnie as well as his training mates at Rosa Associati training camp athletes.
“It was good for me to win Boston especially being the WMM. I lost London last year but I staged a good revenge in Boston.
The two time Amsterdam marathon, Cherono said he will be waiting on his management to decide whether to go for a hat trick or not.
“In Boston everybody was ready for the race. The course was hard for us. After setting the pace high, we realized that many of us had to be cut off. Running your best in the race is good because you never know. I also wanted to make my family and fans happy so that when am called somewhere, they follow what you do,” said the former Honolulu marathon champion.
