Sons of Anarchy and Hookis were crowned the champions of the second leg of Western and Rift Valley Regional Half Court 3×3 basketball qualifiers played today at the Eldoret Sports club.
Anarchy won the men title after edging out Team Wednesday 11-09 during the finals while Hookies were 8-5 winners over Kickers in the women side.
Four men and 2 women teams booked for the national championships set for May 27th in Nairobi.
Anarchy Captain Fred Sande said that the win was good for them as a reprieve for the long journey to Eldoret.
“The win here has given us many reasons to work more for better results at the international level,” said Sande.
Hookis outshone Kickers in the final to win the title in 5-8 with the finalists earning the two slots for the national play-offs.
The winning captain Michelle Otieno: “The team was in good shape to win the title. We came here, known what we wanted and we have done it. Our next assignment is bigger than what we have had here,” she said.
Eldoret was the second leg after Mombasa qualifier two weeks ago. The next leg moves to Kisumu on April 29th before heading for the third and final qualifier in Nairobi on May 20th and the national championships set for may 27th.
