South Africa’s Blitzboks Women sealed their second consecutive Africa Women’s 7s title with a commanding 22–0 victory over hosts Kenya Lionesses in the cup final at the RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi.
Despite enjoying overwhelming home support, the Lionesses were unable to break through South Africa’s dominant defence as the visitors secured their 10th continental crown. The defeat means Kenya, coached by Dennis Mwanja, finish as runners-up for the third year in a row after similar second-place results in 2023 and 2024.
The victory also ensured that Cecil Afrika’s South African side earned promotion to the World Rugby Sevens Series Division Three next season.
Both teams had reached the final unbeaten after four matches each in the pool and knockout stages.
In the bronze-medal match, Uganda put on a clinical display to defeat Madagascar 33–12, securing third place.
