Standard Chartered marathon to resume

Nairobi Standard Chartered Marathon returns this year after it was suspended last year due to coronavirus.

The annual race, which enters its 18th year, will resume on a date that will be announced later.

Paul Gitau, the race organizer said that the race, which started in 2003 has grown to become the largest marathon in the country putting Kenya on the world.

“We have had a successful 17 years of great experience with over 250,000 runners’ competing for the crown,” said Gitau.

The five race categories expected to feature at this year’s marathon as last year’s include: 42km marathon, 21km Half Marathon, 21km wheelchairrace, 10km, and the 5km family fun run.
