Three teams Western Stima, Ulinzi Stars and Tusker registered their wins in the Kenya Premier League matches played today in various fields.
Western Stima registered their second win in the 2019/2020 season after winning Kisumu Derby against debutants Kisumu All Stars 2-1 at Moi stadium, Kisumu.
Hassan Kiyoyo gave the hosts the lead in the 5th minute before Michael Owino leveled five minutes later but Vitalis Akumu sealed the victory for powermen in the 63rd minute.
At Afraha stadium in Nakuru, hosts Ulinzi Stars came from a goal down to win 3-1 in the late scoring chances against Sony Sugar.
John Mwita gave the sugar millers the lead with just 15 minutes into the whistle and went into break 0-1 up.
Daniel Wawer restored the solders’ pride when he levelled in the 75th minute as Moses Mwangi gave hosts the lead in the 82nd minute and Enosh Ochieng sealed the victory five minutes later.
In a fight of former champions, Tusker FC thrashed Sofapaka 3-1 at Machakos stadium. the second half goals from Michael Madoya (46th), Hillary Wandera (53rd) and Luke Namanda (71st) were good for Tusker before Elly Asieche converted a penalty in the 90+2 minutes for a consolation.
In the second match at Machakos, Mathare United and Kariobangi Sharks played to a goalless draw, with Sharks still winless.
