Strathmore and Kenyatta Universities won volleyball titles as Kenya Universities Sports Association (KUSA) came to an end today at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) ground.
Strathmore defeated KU in men’s volleyball 3-1 in a four setter thriller in court one while KU outclassed The University of Nairobi (UON) in straight sets.
The men winners came from a 25-19 set down to win the remaining three successfully in 23-25, 13-25 and 21-25 for the title.
At the semifinals, the champions defeated UON in a five setter thriller 25-21, 15-25, 19-25, 25-20 and 12-15) while the second placed KU were 5-2 winners against Kisii University in 15-20, 20-25, 26-24, 18-25 and 15-09.
In ladies, KU were too good for UON at the finals winning in straight sets of 25-27, 22-25 and 11-25.
KU had beaten Strathmore 3-2 (20-25, 15-25, 25-21, 26-24 and 10-15) while UON were 3-1 winners over hosts in 25-20, 14-25, 25-15 and 25-22.
