Tanui, Kibor win Ol Kalou cross country meet

Albert Tanui of Rongai and Marion Kibor were the winners of the third leg of Athletics Kenya cross country Championships held on Saturday in Ol Kalou, Nyandarua County.

The duo won the 10km senior men and women titles as they seek for 6th edition of Africa Cross Country championship to be held in Lome, Togo on March 1.

Tanui clocked 30:18.33 ahead of Franklin Ng’elel 30:18.35 with Antony Kibet of Torongo Athletics Club in third at 30:25.2.

Josephat Bett of Kenya Police was foruth in 30:33.8 and Peter Emase (Prisons, 30:35.6) and Moses Koiyatei (KDF, 30:38.0) took the fifth and sixth
positions respectively.

In women Marion Kibor won in 34:15.6 after leading from gun to tape.

Chepkemoi Bett (34:16.7), Edina Jebitok (34:28.6), Mary Nyaruai (34:41.9), Joyce Chepkemoi (34:53.2) and Ruth Chepng’etich (34:56.9) followed Kibor to complete the top six positions.

Africa Junior 3000 metres bronze medallist Gideon Rono led from gun to tape to win the Under-20 8km in 23:37.7
