Tanzania retained their CECAFA Senior Women Challenge title following their victory against Kenya during the final match played at the Azam Complex in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania.
The home team won by a solitary on goal by Enez Mango in the 49th minute to help Twiga Stars retain the title for the third time in a row.
With the championships played in a round robin after attracting five nations, Kenya hosts Tanzania, Burundi, Uganda and South Sudan, Tanzania needed a draw to win the trophy while Kenya needed a win to be crowned champions.
Coached by Bakari Shime defeated Kenya, a nation that had not conceded any gaol since the championships started on Saturday last week.
The Harambee Starlets coach Beldine Odemba had won all the four matches, starting with a 4-0 win over Burundi, 5-0 beating of Uganda and 4-0 win over South Sudan before losing 1-0 to hosts.
