peter Thiong’o missed penalty earned Gor Mahia the Mashemeji derby encounter at the Madaraka Day Exhibition match played at the Nyayo stadium today.
AFC Leopards, who beat Kakamega Homeboyz on Sunday, failed to beat Gor mahia again after a 5-6 loss in the spot kicks following a one-all draw in regulation time.
With Thiong’o kick going over, Collings Shivachi scored first for Ingwe in the 35th minute before Austin Odhiambo leveld for Gor in the 67th minute to force the spot kicks.
Gor kicks were scored by Philemon Otieno, Samuel Onyango, Benson Omala, Dennis Ng’ang’a, John Macharia and Austin Odhiambo then leopards were netted by Tedian Esilaba, Washington Munene, Victor Omune, Josephat Lopaga, John Makwatta.
The win earned the champions a million shillings as Leopards pocketed kshs 500,000.
