Kenya Amateur Golf Championships (KAGC) series leader Mike Kisia will join a host of other top amateur golfers at the par 72 golf course this weekend in the Coronation and Bendor Trophy championships which is the 7th meeting of KAGC.
The Vet Lab golfer has remained on the summit of the series for two meetings after winning Winston Churchill leg at Thika Sports and finished a distance 14th at the Trans Nzoia Championships at par 73 Kitale golf course a fortnight ago.
The leader will play alongside Alfred Nandwa of Railway Club, P. Muhia and B. Omondi at 7:10. He will be accompanied by fellow club members Robinson Owiti, Edwin Mudanyi, Isaac Makokha, Isaiah Otuke.
Karari will be the first on the tee at 6:40 playing alongside Golf Parks John Lejirma and J. Rono.
Mudanyi, who has been finishing second in almost said his main aim to finish top and become the national champion.
“I want to try to improve on my swings to win the Nakuru title and win the main title of the championships,” said Mudanyi, who will tee off at 7:50 am alongside club member Dennis Saikwa, H. Kip and S. Singh.
Eldoret club will be represented by club chairman Andrew Chelogoi, Captain Moses Tanui and green keeper Aaron Kitur.
The Coronation and Bendor Trophy defending champion Peter Rimui, who was confident of defending his title will also be on the tee at 7:40 alongside Golf Park’s Anthony Kinuthia, Nakuru’s Paul Macharia and J. Mureithi.
“I have to do my best and defend my title I won last year. I know there will be challenges but that will not deter my prowess in the championships,” said Rimui.
Fresh from winning Trans Nzoia Championships in Kitale, Kenya One, the KAGC formerly Golfer of the Year (Goty) Kenneth Bollo will be trying another luck in Nakuru. The Railway Club based golfer will be playing at 7:20am in a flight with J. Kamais, Vet Lab’s Isaac Makokha and Limuru’s John Karichu.
