Trans Nzoia to revenge against Vihiga Queens as KWPL season starts

Trans Falcons will be setting up sweet revenge against three-time Kenya women Premier League (KWPL) champions Vihiga Queens ahead of the new season set to kick off on 22nd February 2020.

Trans Nzoia lost at home to Queens on November 30th as the later went ahead to claim their third and a hat trick in the 16 team league at Manour sports ground.

The two teams met in the last match where Queens defeated their hosts Trans Nzoia 1-2 to lift their third title in a row will be a mouth-watering encounter as the hosts will be setting sweet revenge against their visitors.

Fresh from anchoring national team Harambee Starlets to win the CECAFA Senior Women Challenge Cup in Tanzania, Cynthia Shilwatso scored a brace for Queens to beat Trans Nzoia Falcons in their last Kenya Women Premier League to lift the title.

The win was good for Vihiga county team as they won the KWPL hat trick.

Vihiga had already won the title before the last match in Kitale and remains the only team to in the women’s top-flight football in the country to win the title three times in a row.

Joan Wanjala scored first for the hosts in the 28th minute but Shilwatso levelled two minutes later before sealing her brace and giving the visitors a win in the 37th minute.
