Reining Commonwelth Game 5,000m champion Hellen Onsando Obiri registered a successful transition to win her first gold in cross country.
The 5,000m world champion started her career in 1,500m before transiting to 5,000m and today she proved her crioticis wrong to lift her maiden World cross country title in Aarhus, Denmark.
The 2016 Olympic Games 5,00m silver medalist won in 36:14 ahead of Ethiopia’s Dera Dida (36:16) and Letesenbet Gidey (36:14).
