It was a triple win for Abigail Jepkwemoi during the Athletics Kenya North Rift Region under Selection probables held today at the Ndura Sports Complex in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County.
Jepkwemoi won the women’s 5,000m, 800m and 1,500m as she plans to represent the country at the World Under 20 championships that will be held in Cali, Colombia.
“It has been a journey for me but I am willing and ready to represent this country in major races. I have been training well and through this, I will select the suitable race for me that I will concentrate on to conquer the world,” said Jepkwemoi.
In the 5,000m, she won the title in 16:52.16 followed by Ruth Jeptoo who timed 17:12.76 and caren Jepkemoi completing the podium in 17:58.57.
In her 800m, she clocked 2:20.42 followed by Sharon Jepkoech (2:25.45) and Maureen Jelagat in 2:38.03
