Junior golfer Tuimur Malik and professional golfer Erick Ooko were the best Kenyan at the opening day of Magical Kenya Open Golf championships, which is part of European Tour on par 71 Karen Country club, Nairobi
The Muthaiga based golfer fired two under par 69 to finish round one in the joint 48th position as Frenchman Benjamin Hebert took round one lead with an impressive 7 under par 64.
Playing as an amateur golfer, the 2019 Kenya Junior Strokeplay champion fired three birdies, dropped two shots and parred the rest.
Golf park’s Ooko also fired two under par 69 to tie with Tuimur ahead of tomorrow’s second round where top golfers will make the cut into the third and 4th round on Saturday and Sunday respectively in the 54-hole tournament.
