North Rift’s Tumkas Youth and two time Federation of East Africa Secondary School Sports Association (EASSSA) football champions Itigo girls were the first teams to qualify onto Rift Valley Chapa Dimba Na Safaricom football tournament played at Eldoret Showground today.

Tumkas whipped White Rhinos from Central Rift 1-4 in the first semifinals match while Itigo defeated Bomet Queens 3-1.
Lameck Ochieng opened the score with three minutes into the match before Brian Kipruto scoring the second in the 9th minute to give hosts the lead but William Leshon halved the score in the 22nd minute before break.
Alvin Kipkosgey and Geoffrey Sakwa needed a goal apiece to seal victory in the 66th and 88th minutes to give home fans a reason to return for the finals on Sunday.
Tumkas captain Mathew Kibiwott said they have nothing to lose at the final.
“Our target is nothing but play at the national level,” said Kibiwott.
In girls’ category, Itigo girls used home ground advantage to seal the final play with a win against Bomet Queens from South Rift.
Holger Jeokorir scored first in 28th minute followed by captain Mercy Tarus in 41st minutes before Vicky Korir sealing the victory as Winrose Chepkoech scored a consolation in the 89th minute.
Itigo head coach Hinox Kitam said their purpose is to lift the title.
“The girls have confidence and winning the title is their target,” said Kitam.
