Athletes who will compete at the inaugural Uhuru Classic Nairobi City Marathon next month will be paid as much as that athlete competing at the World Marathon majors.
Sports Cabinet secretary Amina Mohammed revealed that the prize money for the race will be like that of world marathon majors like the London Marathon, Berlin Marathon, Chicago Marathon and Boston Marathon among others.
Athletics Kenya President jack Tuwei has revealed that there will be a new marathon to be run in Nairobi.
Speaking yesterday at Riadha House, Tuwei announced that there will be Uhuru Classic Nairobi City Marathon next month.
The 8th May will be staged, just a day after the third edition of Kip keino Classic at Moi Sports Centre, Kasarani.
