Ulinzi Complex to host Athletics Kenya weekend meet in new year

Athletics Kenya will host the second leg of the Athletics Kenya (AK) track and field weekend meet set for January 5-6 at the Ulinzi Sports Complex Langata.

AK in a press release said athletes will use the event as a build-up for various international events next year.

AK said the event is open to all athletes in what will be a  busy year featuring among others All Africa Games in March in Ghana and the Olympic Games in Paris in July.

Among the events the athletes are set to compete in include the 100m, 110 m hurdles, 200m, 400m, 800m,  1500m, 3000m, 5000m, 10,000m and 4x 400m relay.

Other events include 4x 100m, high jump, long jump, triple jump, shot put, discus, hammer, javelin, pole vault, and combined events.

All athletes will be required to collect their numbers in person on January 4 at Nyayo Stadium, starting 9 am to 6 pm.

Any athlete who fails to collect their bib numbers on the date indicated above will not  be allowed to compete

Athletes Kenya has urged athletes to turn up in large numbers for the event which will be the first of the new year.
