Ulinzi, Homeboyz collect maximum KPL points

Ulinzi Stars and Kakamega Homeboyz registered wins in today’s Kenya Premier league (KPL) matches.

Returning from an injury, the KPL top scorer Enosh Ochieng scored a brace as Ulinzi defeated bottom side Chemelil Sugar 1-4 at Muhoroni Stadium.

He scored the opener five minutes from start before adding the second ten minutes later John Kago added the third for the soldiers before David Simiyu pulled one back for the Millers as substitute Ezekiel Okare restored the three goal lead.

In Kakamega at Bukhungu stadium, homeside Kakamega Homeboyz were 1-0 winners over Shield Cup champions Bandari FC.

Christopher Masinza’s early goal earned Homeboyz maximum points with just four minutes played.

In other results, Benson Ochieng grabbed a hat-trick when Western Stima thrashed Zoo Kericho 4-1 at Moi Stadium in Kisumu.

Ochieng opened the score in the 19th minute, added the second ten minutes later and grabbed a hat trick in the 47th minute before Salim Hamisi sealed the victory in the 88th minutes as substitute Dennis Ongeri scored a consolation for Zoo in the 72nd minute.

Tusker FC ascended to the top of the KPL following a 1-0 victory over returnees Wazito FC at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

Defender Eric Ambunya secured the win for Robert Matano team in the 71st minute to lead the table with 27 points after playing 14 matches.
