Ulinzi Stars fire coach Dunstan Nyaudo

Former Kenya Premier League champions Ulinzi Stars has fired head coach Dunstan Nyaudo following their bad results in the 2025/2026 season.

The Kenya Defence Forces team has collected fewer points in the league, with 5 points from five matches, winning one and drawing 2, losing 2 that prompted his sacking in a statement sent to newsrooms.

“The management appreciates Coach Nyaudo’s dedication, professionalism, and service to the team both on and off the pitch during his time in charge. We extend our sincere gratitude to Coach Nyuado for his contributions to the Ulinzi Stars family and wish him the very best in his future endeavours,” the club said in the statement.

Nyaudo was the most capped player for the soldiers as a defenders and took over coaching since 2017 on an interim basis, before being confirmed in 2018 and later exiting in 2020 after a string of poor results.

He returned in July 2024 after a successful spell with the club’s U20 side, helping to nurture emerging talents.

However, despite his best efforts to rebuild the senior team, Ulinzi finished 12th in the 2024/25 season

His third appointment in August 2025 was seen as a move to inject stability and youth into the squad, but results have been inconsistent.
