Unsuccessful Shujaa defeated Japan in the Classification match in the ongoing Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan today.
Following their poor performance in group stages, finishing last after losing all their matches, the Innocent Simiyu led charges beat hosts 21-07 after coming from behind at the Tokyo stadium.
In the earlier pool match, Kenya had lost to Ireland 14-05 to bow out of the championships main cup title chase.
But Shujaa were consoled when Alvin “Buffa” Otieno, Jeffrey Oluoch and skipper Andrew Amonde touched down with extras to get the 21-07 final score after the hosts went 7-0 lead.
In pool C matches, Shujaa lost to the USA and South Africa.
