Victor Wanyama will remain at Tottenham Hotspurs this summer ending speculations of joining Belgian side Club Brugge.
The Harambee Stars captain has been drafted into the Hotspur’s Uefa Champions League squad for the group stages that kicks off on September 17 to December 11, 2019.
The information was published on the European Football governing body (Uefa) website on September 4, all the 32 teams competing at group stage have submitted their squads, including Tottenham with Wanyama’s name in.
Wanyama was expected to leave Spurs before the European summer transfer window closed on September 2.
There were reports that the former Southmpton player was to join Brugge on a Sh1.5 billion transfer fee.
Following the drama, Wanyama will miss the Kenya against Uganda in a friendly match set for Sunday at Moi Sports Centre, Kasarani.
In the Champions League, Spurs will face off with German giants Bayern Munich as well as Olympiacos (Greece) and Red Star Belgrade (Serbia) in Group ‘B’.
