Victor Wanyama withdraws from Harambee Stars squad ahead of international friendlies

Former Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama has withdrawn from the provisional squad ahead of international friendly matches.

Currently playing for Dunfermline Athletic in Scotland, Wanyama has been confirmed that he has withdrawn from the squad due personal commitments.

Last week, head coach Benni McCarthy announced the return of Wanyama but today the Football Federation announced that the midfielder has withdrawn.

Wanyama is yet to make a public comment regarding his initial return or subsequent withdrawal, even as debate continues among fans over the role of the former Celtic and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder in the current team setup where the national team is preparing to face Chad in two friendly matches scheduled for June 7 and June 10 in Morocco.
