In their way of supporting sports, the County Government of Vihiga has aside to support sports in the county.
The devolved system has set aside ksh 30 million for the sports family according to County Executive for Sports Felistas Okumu Barasa.
Barasa they will they operate under the Vihiga County Sports Management 2019, and it will ensure that the County, under the legal framework, will not only sponsor sporting activities but also give the committee a go ahead to create more avenues of sponsoring teams.
The board will serve on a three-year mandate which could be renewed based on performance.
This comes as various sports stakeholders urged the board to balance funding between football and other games like rugby, netball and volleyball
