Violet Wanyonyi scored four goals, Maureen Achieng a hat-trick, Teresah Engesha and Jentrix Shikangwa scoring a brace each as Vihiga Queens humiliated Yei Joint Stars in the CAF Women’s qualifiers.
The Kasarani stadium show bounced back from a 4-2 loss to Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) on Sunday to beat Joint Stars 11-0 to take second position in pool B.
Achieng scored after six minutes and Wanyonyi doubled for 2-0 lead as Engesha added the 3rd in the 15th minute before Wanyonyi made it 4-0.
Achieng returned with the second in 31st minute, with Shikangwa netting the 6th into break.
Engesha completed her brace in the 50th minute and in the 66th minute, Wanyonyi scored her third of the day with Achieng sealing a hat-trick in the 68th minute before Shikangwa and Wanyonyi added the extras for a 11-0.
CBE leads the table with six points after beating Zanzibar’s New Generation 10-1 in other pool B match, Yei Joint Stars are third with three points but with an inferior goal difference while New Generation are bottom without a point
Vihiga’s next match is against New Generation of Zanzibar on Friday when CBE will also face Yei Joint Stars.
