Junior runners Emmanuel Wanyonyi and Noah Kibet will fight for the 800m medals during the finals on Sunday at the ongoing World under 20 athletics championships at Kasarani stadium in Nairobi, Kenya.
The duo won in their respective heats to automatically qualify into the finals on the final day of the championships.
Wanyonyi, who led from start to end won the opening heat clocking 1:46.15 with Algeria’s Mohamed Ali Gouaned (1:47.35) and Daniel Wolde of Ethiopia
Kibet won the second and last heat in 1:46.47 ahead of Czech Republic’s Jakub Davidik (1:46.59) and Abdullahi Hassani in third timing (1:46.89).
