Will Kipchoge Keino stadium host CHAN?

All is not well for Kipchoge Keino stadium in Eldoret to host the Africa Nations Champions (CHAN) playing field set for January 2018.

A powerful delegation of Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) led by Vice president Omari Seleman and Football Kenya Federation led by president Nick Mwendwa were in Eldoret to inspect the facility that is set to host part of the pool matches.

But all was not well as the delegation’s mood after the meeting was not pleasing and Mwendwa refused to address journalists waiting outside the stadium’s office.

Mwendwa said in a hurry “We have a crisis’ as he rushed to the vehicles waiting with security personnel.

But according the insider within the meeting, said the meeting did not go well with the officials together with the contractors.

“The indoor meeting did not go well with both officials and contractors. The meeting did not bare any fruit as CAF’s hard questions were not answered,” said the source.

He added that some officials were talking of adding more contractors to speed up the facility’s face lift.

The officials left the meeting with frowning faces, talking in low tones, as they headed to the cars.

Eldoret meeting comes a day after the delegation had visited Kinoru stadium in Meru.
