Reigning Commonwealth Games 400m hurdles bronze medalist Wiseman Were Mukhobe has qualified to compete into the semifinals of the ongoing World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan.
Were, who ran his personal best of 48.27, was initially out of competition after finishing 5th in Heat behind Qatar’s Abderrahman Samba cruised to victory in 48.03, ahead of Tyri Donovan of Great Britain who clocked 48.26 in second place ahead of the final set for Wednesday final.
Chris Robinson of the United States came third in 48.27, same as Jamaican Malik James-King (48.27) and Were (48.27) in fourth and fifth respectively.
