Yosei and Kipkurgut top Kenya Prisons track championships at Kasarani

Africa beach Games half marathon champion Charles Muneria Yosei and Boaz Kipkurgut won in their respective races at the Kenya Prisons Service Track and Field held today at Kasarani.

Repreenting Coast, Yosei won the men’s 10,000m title in 28:56.4 ahead of Geoffrey Korir from Nairobi to second timing 2:56.8 and Wilfred Kimitei ending the podium in 29:08.8 as defending champion Peter Emase from Headquarters came in seventh in 30:09.8.

Former world under 20 1,500m silver medallist Boaz Kiprugut won the men’s 1,500m title in 3:43.9.

Representing Nairobi, Kiprugut finished ahead of Prisons Staff Training College Shadrack Ngumbau and World Under-20 1,500m champion Vincent Keter to second and third places in 3:44.5 and 3:45.2 respectively.
